Strategies for Introducing New Contents in the Teaching of Oxford English Textbook as a Foreign Language

Lead in is the first step, which is called teaching organizing, and one of the mostbasic and important steps in the English classroom teaching. It is short but can not beunderestimated. With a proper lead in, students will be more concentrated anddynamic in the classroom teaching process, which makes teaching moreunderstandable, lively and efficient. In addition, to choose different methods of lead in,which is one of the ways to achieve different teaching objectives, is well worthconsidering and preparing.The thesis begins with the analysis of the English classroom teaching nowadays.On the basis of survey and analysis of the three compositions, which consist ofstudents, teachers and teaching materials, it will discuss class types and strategies forefficiently introducing different new contents. The thesis will focus on introducingnew contents in the teaching of Oxford English Textbook from the point view of thesecond language classroom teaching. It will benefit reform in Shanghai as well asteachers, students and schools.There are four chapters in this thesis. Chapter 1 is to introduce the studybackground and relevant research at home and abroad. Chapter 2 is to explain thebasic theory of the lead-in strategies. Chapter 3 is to conduct a survey, research andconsider the situation in the introducing new contents in the teaching of OxfordEnglish Textbook. Chapter 4 is to draw a conclusion of the research.
